Problem Oriented Engineering (POE)

Problem Oriented Engineering (POE) is a design theoretic framework for problem solving. It sees problem solving as a socially situated design process, within which creativity and expertise come together to solve real-world problems by satisfying a wide range of stakeholders' needs. It captures such process within a logical framework akin to proof-theoretic frameworks, providing a logical foundation to represent and reason about phenomenological relationships and their unfolding in the process.

POE has been applied in real-world organisations to address real-world problems from safety systems engineering, to finanical IT, to IT Governance and organisational change.
