PartnersUniversity of Aberdeen and Cambridge Training and Development Ltd. FundingSkillSum is one of a number of projects funded by ESRC, EPSRC and the DTI under the PACCIT (People @ the Centre of Communication and Information Technologies). LINK programme. AimSkillSum developed an automatic assessment and reporting tool for adult basic skills (literacy and numeracy). The tool was a web-based system that allowed new entrant students at a college to take a basic skills assessment as part of their normal enrollment process. When the test was completed, the tool produced a report for the user describing his or her skill level and whether this was adequate for the course about to be taken, and suggesting actions he or she could take to improve basic skills. | |
