The Open University is located in Milton
Keynes. Maps and travel details to our University campus can be found
within
The Open
University's travel details. In addition, a map
of the local area may be useful for anyone wishing to walk between
the Open University campus and the listed hotels. For those wishing to book air travel, the
closest airport is London Luton, and there are good regular coach links
to Milton Keynes from here. Otherwise we recommend to fly into one of
the other London airports or Birmingham airport. Public
transport By train: Milton Keynes Central is the
most convenient train station for travel to the Open University. Buses
and Taxis can be picked up just outside the station.
Advice: Once you have arrived at Milton Keynes Central Station, book a cab via your mobile phone to pick you up in front of the railway station (e.g. use SKYLINE, phone: 01908 222-111, SPEEDLINE, phone: 01908 260-260, or Eezy Cabs, phone: 01908 218-218). These pre-booked cabs usually arrive within a few minutes and are cheaper than the taxis that are waiting just outside the railway station. Buses from/to Central Milton Keynes Station:
By coach: Except for the VT99
service from Luton airport, which serves Milton Keynes Central
train station, National Express coaches (from airports or elsewhere) will
arrive at Milton Keynes Coachway. There are no direct local bus links
with the Open University from here, but there is an office where taxis
can be ordered. Alternatively, you can book a cab (see the advice above).
Car
parking at the Open University Visitors can park for free in
any of the car parks on the Open University campus, no parking permit
is required. However, signs in the car parks indicate that cars not
parked in the marked bays will be clamped. The car parks closest to the
Berrill lecture theatre are likely to be full before registration
begins, but spaces are often available in the South
West car park.
