Academic interests:

• Inverse problems. In particular medical imaging and theoretical aspects of magnetoencephalography (MEG). Also more general questions of methods of choosing regularisation parameters in Tikhonov regularization.
• Quantum Optics. Mainly laser cooling and experiments on cold atoms or Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs).
• Teaching mathematics/physics using new technologies. I have mostly written muultimedia CD-ROMs, but have also experimented with using Java for web delivery. For example I have written some Java applets which show the normal modes of a water molecule using a simple mechanical model.
