Simulation models
As part of our research into software evolution, we've developed a number of simulation models. They are available here for download and use in research.
- A qualitative simulation model of software evolution in proprietary software development. This model shows how, when a system's growth stalls, management can act to shift resources from development to anti-regressive work. This model requires QSIM.
- Two NetLogo models of open source development. One model has requirements generated by code patches; another, better one has requirements generated by independent users.
