What you should know about


microcrystalline hydroxyapatite compound IMCHC)

Please read this carefully before you start to take your medicine. If you have any questions or are not sure about anything ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The name of your medicine is Ossopan 800. It contains microcrystalline hydroxyapatite compound. It is used to provide calcium and phosphorus (which are essential for healthy bones) in conditions such as osteoporosis.

Things to remember about Ossopan

1. Before taking your medicine read the back of this leaflet.

2. Take your medicine as directed by your doctor.

3. You may need to take this medicine for many months before you begin to gain the benefit.

4. Swallow the tablets whole then take a long drink to make sure they go down.

BEFORE TAKING YOUR MEDICINE If you can answer YES to either of the following questions tell your doctor. He may need to give you special instructions.

Have you ever had kidney or bladder stones?

Are you paralysed or permanently bedridden?

TAKING YOUR MEDICINE Take your tablets as directed by your doctor, usually with or before meals.

Swallow the tablets whole then take a long drink (at least half a tumblerful} to make sure they go down.

If you forget to take a dose at the correct time take it as soon as you remember then go on as before.

Keep taking your tablets until your doctor tells you to stop. It may be many months before you start to gain the benefit.

STORING YOUR MEDICINE Keep your tablets in a safe place where children cannot reach them.

If your doctor decides to stop treatment, return any leftover tablets to the pharmacist. Only keep them if your doctor tells you to.

WHAT'S IN YOUR MEDICINE Ossopan tablets are pale buff coloured and contain 830mg microcrystalline hydroxyapatite compound providing 178mg calcium and 83mg phosphorus.

Ossopan tablets do not contain gluten, tartrazine or sucrose (sugar).
