What you need to know about Ismelin

Please read this carefully before you start to take your tablets. This leaflet does not contain the complete information about your tablets. If you have any questions or are not sure about anything ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Ismelin contains a substance called guanethidine. It is one of the group of medicines called anti-hypertensives which are used to reduce high blood pressure.

Things to remember about Ismelin

    1. Make sure it is safe for you to take Ismelin (see the back of this leaflet).
    2. Take your tablets as instructed by your doctor and read the label on your tablets.
    3. These tablets may cause unwanted effects in some people. You can find information about them on the back of this leaflet.
    4. Do not stop taking your tablets suddenly. Ask your doctor first.
    5. Keep your tablets in a dry place out of reach of children.
    6. Ismelin tablets are not suitable for use in children.
    7. Remember to return any unused medicine to your pharmacist.

severe or last for more than a few days, tell

your doctor. Also, if your tablets upset you

in any other way, tell your doctor.
