Milton Keynes Council Budget Consultation

Milton Keynes Council is making decisions about its 2012/13 budget to decide how best to fund and shape the services it delivers to you, and which support the communities that live, work and learn in Milton Keynes.

One of the proposals, which affects the grant that we obtain from the council (£12,800 in 2011/12), is proposal S56:

Arts Grant aid, Sports Development and Wider Use - 6% reduction per year in partnership and grant funding; including Bucks and Milton Keynes Sports Partnership, Sport:MK and Milton Keynes Athletics Club.

This does represent a considerable improvement on the proposal last year that our grant be cut by half in 2012/13 and disappear altogether in 2013/14.

Could I ask you to spend 5 minutes filling in the questionnaire on the MKC website at

http://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/mkcconsultationdetails/?ConsultationID=184 by saying something like.

We support proposal S56 as we enjoy taking part in athletics and the continued support for Marshall Milton Keynes Athletic Club is vital to help with the considerable costs of managing and maintaining Stantonbury Athletics Stadium.
